 Madam LIU HSIA founded “Eden Handicap Foundation” in Taipei City, Taiwan (R.O.C.)



1983 Welfare factories were established In Chingmei, Taipei City, Taiwan (R.O.C.)

Start to accept the Ministry of the Interior committee to handle the vocational trainings




Eden's Christian Church was established, the official Christian church to promote the gospel work to persons with disabilities


1987 The first Disability group collaborated of its kind to fight for their rights,
1989 49 organizations united for 119 Pull to Save Handicapped People.

73 disability organizations united to established the Disabled Welfare Law Amendment Action Commission



The launch of the Rehabilitation Bus




1991 Eden open a branch in Penang, Malaysia
1991 Eden's employment matchmaking computer service
1994 Reorganization of Eden Social Welfare Foundation
1995 Integrated Service Program for Early Intervention Services

1998 Eden officially become part of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL)

Held its first disability experience in hopes bringing awareness to the public and spark actions toward the cause


2000 The business center establish a nationwide disability service
2001 Typhoon Nari left serious injuries, Eden had to reconstruction environment
2002 Establish the Foreign Spouse Care Group
2002 Officially becomes a part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Commission for Social Development
2003 Founder Ms. LIU HSIA passes away

Eden has long been concern about environmental friendliness, the disabled who seek medical needs, schools, long-term care, economic problems, new immigrate concerns, long-term care issues, participates, social enterprises and other issues


2004 Establishment of the Accessible Sport Utility Alliance

Eden hosted the International Conference on Accessible Tourism (ICAT 2005) to promote accessible tourism for persons with disabilities in Asia-Pacific




Working Holiday established voluntary service groups in South Asia, in remote area to provide education and home health service, letting the children know they are important and people care for them


  Taiwan Fujian agency evaluation of Taiwan-Fujian area of good quality (professional team)
  Received the ROC charities Service Association - national public service award
  Established a Communication Department in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
2006 Early specialized team received the “2005 Good Evaluation” for a Taiwan organization
  Began the Disadvantage Community Care Operations, by linking resources
  Took over Beijing's traffic recovery bus operations
2007 Received the Presidential Culture Award – Sun Award (Social services, social welfare)
2008 Was awarded The Evaluation Excellence by the Ministry of the Interior national Foundation
  The third “Disability Rights Protection Law”

After the Sichuan Earthquake, the establishment of reconstruction team, designated service, home service, rehabilitation work, surgical referral service, donation transfers, and environmental barrier services



2009 Eden was selected for the “Golden Show Award” for the Council of Labor Affairs
  13 unites receive the Seventh Ministry of the Interiors nationwide Disability Welfare

Typhoon, Eden started the first line relief by starting “Home Reconstruction Project for Disadvantage Communities,” undertaking Jiadong reconstruction Center



Eden hosted the 4th International Conference on Accessible Tourism (ICAT 2011) to promote accessible tourism for persons with disabilities in Asia-Pacific



We invited Nick Vujicic, who was born without limbs from Australia, to organize "Never Give Up" Speech Series with over 40,000 attendees




Eden Celebrates its 30 year Anniversary



Eden has been honored to be graced with the presence of His Majesty King Mswati III, King of the Kingdom of Swaziland, who has visited Taiwan with high level officers and administrators of the Kingdom of Swaziland. Eden Rejoicing Choir for the Blind, who had visited Swaziland and performed for the king, had once again the honor to sing for His Majesty



Eden hosted the “Workability International Conference 2012” (WI 2012), incorporating the Workability Asia Conference 2012“ will be held in Taipei, to promote the employment of persons with disabilities under global economic recession


2013 Eden Welfare Centre in Chengdu City, China was officially registered

Eden hosted the 2013 Conference on Disaster Recovery in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Macau (Taipei)



We hosted a series of activities titled “Love, Courage and Hope” which included a Thanksgiving Hike to celebrate the removal of explosives in previous mine areas





We hosted “International Trends, Empowerment in the face of new challenges ” international workshop



We hosted Multiple Disabilities with Visual Impairments (MDVI) Students Benifitted from Quality Education with Perkins' Debut in Taiwan


2014 We registered Eden's first Office in Thailand

We invited Dr. Hyung Shik Kim from the UN's Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) to our workshop to discuss how laws protecting the disabled were implemented in different countries and the impacts of rectifying CRPD



Eden successfully urged the government to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with
Disabilities (CRPD)


  Eden hosted the International Conference on Developmental Social Work
2015 Kailash Satyarthi, winner of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, visited Eden

Eden celebrated its 10th anniversary for its work in Vietnam with “Love in Vietnam: Ten Year Anniversary Presentation”



Eden Social Welfare Foundation ("Sponsor") collaborated with The Regents of the University of California, on behalf of its Berkeley Campus ("UCB") in support of the project entitled:"Achieving Migrant Worker Wellbeing: A Community-Based Participatory Research Collaboration"



Eden hosted "Stop Debris of War, Plant Flowers of Hope"

-A Mine Action Week (an international symposium and a photo exhibition)



Eden hosted the Active Aging in Place International Conference: "Live in Peace , Good
Transportation and Nutritious Food", and released a recipe book at a press conference


  Eden hosted the International Conference on Drug Hypersensitivity Management

Eden and ICBL co-hosted a workshop (Agreement on ending the Scourge of Landmines in Asia
-Pacific to Save Lives andPromote Sustainable Developments: Implementing Local Capacity
-Building and Strengthening Regional Cooperation) in Yangon, Myanmar



Eden hosted Developmental Social Work workshops and the International Conference on Developmental Social Work





Eden entered and was stationed in Laos: Eden and other organizations donated 1200 olar power lamps to children living in rural areas



Eden organized an art exhibition called “Eden Steps with Love and Leaps with Art” which was exhibited in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. We chose Bopiliao Historic Block in Taipei for the 6 day exhibition. We invited our co-hosts to Taiwan to cooperate with uss. Over 30 artists from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau contributed a variety of artworks
